HSM Stars Dump Presents

The stars of High School Musical 3 have left their local fans heartbroken after reportedly dumping the gifts they were given at the film’s Melbourne premiere.

Diehard fans of the Disney franchise showered Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale with toy koalas, kangaroos and flowers at the Jam Factory in Melbourne's CBD on Wednesday Night, the Herald Sun reports.

Handwritten cards accompanied the gifts, sprouting messages of "I love you Zac" and "Thanks for coming to Melbourne".

Nearby minders took care of the presents, with the stars rushing to sign autographs for fans — some of whom queued for up to 12 hours.

But when the formalities were finished, Efron and his entourage were reportedly less interested in what the fans had to say — and what they had given.

The stars rushed through their in-cinema speeches and made a hasty exit through a backdoor, not giving the gift stash a second glance.

Village Cinema staff felt so bad for the fans, they stuffed the toys, flowers and cards into a storeroom out of sight.

Some fans hit internet message boards yesterday, accusing Vanessa Hudgens, the film's leading lady, of being ungrateful.

A Disney spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment.

Hudgens, Efron and Tisdale left home for Los Angeles yesterday morning.
