Miranda Cosgrove first impressed audiences with her turn as precocious student Summer Hathaway in 'School of Rock' opposite Jack Black back in 2003. Now 17, the "iCarly" star is back on the big screen lending her voice to the Steve Carell animated comedy 'Despicable Me,' in theaters Friday.

"I thought it was going to be easier to make an animated film than making a TV show," Miranda tells ET. "The biggest difference is you're all alone in this little sound booth and you don't have anybody with you."

Julie Andrews also lends her voice to 'Despicable Me' as Carell's character's mom, and Miranda shares, "It's pretty weird to be walking down the hallway and pass Julie Andrews. It's just crazy. I had seen 'Sound of Music' and I grew up watching her movies with my mom. I love 'Mary Poppins.' I also love 'Princess Diaries' -- I've seen both those movies -- so I always think of her as the queen. She's really elegant."
