Britney Attends Cousin’s Wedding in Louisiana

After making a splash in the Bahamas the day before, Britney Spears emerged Saturday in Amite, Louisiana, where she made a very low-key appearance as a bridesmaid at the wedding of her cousin, Laura Lynne Covington.

"When her brother walked her down the aisle, she looked stunningly calm and beautiful," says one wedding guest. "She was very pretty, low-key. She was not the center of everything, just pretty and calm and collected.”

The wedding took place at the First United Methodist Church, the same church where the funeral for Covington's mother Sandra, who died of ovarian cancer, took place in January 2007.

Later, at the wedding reception, Brit hung out with her sister and fellow bridesmaid, Jamie Lynn and niece, baby Maddie, and "sat at a table off to the side and visited with local people she knew," says the guest.

"There was no fanfare," noted the guest. "With all the star power Britney and her family command, it was still the bride's day."

According to police, Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' baby remains in intensive care after being thrown from his Ford pickup when it rolled over early Sunday.

Trooper Mark Dennis says Aldridge suffered moderate injuries and was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center. His four passengers refused treatment -- so a lawsuit isn't likely.

The wreck happened about 1:30 a.m. on a highway near Lake Bruin, a recreational lake and a popular spot to fish. A source tells People.com that Aldridge was attending a bachelor party for his cousin, when he and some friends decided to go crabbing.

Investigators did not find cause to suspect drugs or alcohol, but cited the 19-year-old pipe layer for careless driving.
